Here is where and how Susan and I like to donate |
|
We like to volunteer when we can, and we also donate. When I was unemployed for a while, I volunteered at the Red Cross.
I met some really great people, and learned a lot.
It was a great experience for me, and it helped me through that dark time of unemployment.
Having helped me, it always has a special place in my heart. |

While at the Red Cross I worked side by side with some people at the Salvation Army.
They were great people, and a great organization!
We signed up for the monthly automatic donation. A donation of $25 will provide 10 meals immediately. A $25 monthly donation will help provide meals during months when food insecurity is already great. |

We donate to this via SMILE.amazon.com Give it a try, its real easy, and for the CHILDREN! |
|
|
We donate to individual schools with Donors Choose. You can pick and choose which projects you want to support!
This is also great fun, we have received hand written notes from the teachers and the students. You cant help but smile when you open those notes! |
|
Person to Person! |
Susan and I started handing out Christmas cards with cash in them!
Use what ever you can afford, $5 $10. We buy the Christmas cards from the dollar store and Susan writes notes in them.
Then we give them to random people. Maybe the cashier at the grocery store that is having a bad day, or if she has a great smile!
Or our server at a restaurant!
It is always great to see their reaction, and the people around us when they see what we do! One day while leaving the doctors office,
Susan saw the senior van and a man working very hard on getting a senior and her wheelchair off the van. He was sweating head to toe, and not having a good day. Susan handed him an envelope, and some words of encouragement! YOU can make a difference! GO DO IT! Its not hard! and its FUN! |
|
Random Acts of KindnessWe also try to be consitantly Kind. If we see Law enforcement or Military people, we try to buy them coffee or a meal. If someone is short of cash at the register, we try to pitch in and help. |
|
All the above are not difficult to do, they can be just a couple of dollars, or simply lending a hand. Give it a try! Its a great feeling! |
